I have been warned that due to the fact I e-mailed the blog address to Corrie over at Women Helping Battered Women, I will get harassed. I have this to say to you Corrie.......BRING IT!!!! I CAN TAKE IT!!!!
I'm an English major, so of course I went straight to my authority on American Usage to learn more about the origins of the elegant little phrase, "bring it." Originally derived from Ebonics, the phrase has begun to be adopted by middle class caucasians and other non-Ebonics speaking populations, particularly of the kind that can be found at the very compelling website below (ooh, I think I see Fells in the background of one of the pictures on this site!) I urge readers to visit:
Or, there is the derivation of the term "Bring it on" which is a Fellsism and copyrighted in the dictionary in my own little head. I wouldn't be crazy enough to publish the thing as it would get torched by the same people who yell at me for mispronouncing Schuyler Falls.....
By the way, I have a face for radio, if there is a picture of me in the dictionary you are referring to, you will turn to stone. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! IT'S SCARY!!!
